Dear Colleagues,

As part of the QPSU’s ‘Climate Heroes’ program, you will notice some new stickers and signs going up around the office encouraging us all to do our bit to reduce our energy consumption. 

Please have a look at the ‘lighting maps’ that have gone up next to all the light switches and familiarize yourself with which switches you should regularly turn off. A study this year showed that over two-thirds of the population never took responsibility for turning off lights in their schools and workplaces. Let’s try to turn this around and all take responsibility for energy use at work.

Remember – turning off one light only makes a small difference, but 200,000 workers in the Queensland public sector all being energy efficient makes a very big change.
