HP Implementation Update
Members need to be congratulated on their work and efforts to get phase 2 moving again.
On 18 June 2009 HPIBB endorsed some modifications to the Interdisciplinary Review in the phase 2 evaluation process. This was in accordance with the decision of the recent teleconference of QPSU state council.
The modifications clarify and formalise the HPIBB oversight role during this phase. The modifications also formalise the links between WLEP and WLET.
The major change is a modification of the evaluation process that will enable HP1-5 to undergo the interdisciplinary review concurrently with HP6-8.
Previously the HP1-5 could not begin the interdisciplinary review step until the HP6-8s were completed.
The details of these changes will be announced in a joint Queensland Health/Union satellite broadcast occurring Wednesday 24 June 2009 at noon.
The satellite broadcast will explain the changes and provide the workforce with timeframes for the completion of the phase 2 evaluations.
We encourage all members to attend in their workplace.
A joint communiqué will also be released outlining the changes.
The union will also be circulating to all HP members details of the changes to the phase 2 evaluations and progress reports on other issues from the HP agreement.
Once again the efforts of all HP How-to-Guides in organizing their workforce to ensure QLD Health remained committed to the process was critical in achieving this outcome.
The Postcard campaign was extremely well supported and demonstrates the power of united collective action.
