your rights at work
Ever since the Howard government announced their plans to radically alter Australia's industrial relations system and attack our rights at work, there has been an avalanche of concern and outrage expressed by the general community, churches, welfare groups, and unionists.
Despite these concerns the Howard - Costello government pushed ahead and released Work Choices.
In the space of a little more than a year we are already seeing the damage that is being done to Australian society, our communities and our families. What's more the promise of more jobs and a benefit to the economy have been shown to be just another lie.
Some choose to dismiss the calls of concern and outrage about the impacts of these radical IR laws, and some even manage to ignore the independent evidence. But QPSU members, like union members around the country, are speaking out. A small selection of this commentary is including below.
